1954 Fender Stratocaster refinished by former Fender Masterbuilder J.W. Black. Refin is beautiful; finish shows normal weather checking as well as regular play wear (dings, scuffs, scrapes, buckle rash). Logo is likely original but is finished over. Original pickups, pots and wiring; Stackpole pots date to 38th week of 1954.
Knobs and pickup covers are replaced with appropriate looking era correct replacements, backplate likely replaced with 1955ish oval hole. Body date 8/54, neck date 3/54 TG.
Neck has overspray and a professional re-fret, likely also done by J.W. Black. Non original frets show minimal wear. Neck depth 0.937" at 1st fret, 1.023" at 12th fret with rounded V/C profile. Nut has been replaced. Truss rod functioning correctly and current playing action is excellent, neck currently has minimal relief and is almost dead straight. Front of headstock shows normal weather checking. One side of split shaft tuning peg has broken off on high E tuner but remains functional, otherwise original tuners all functioning correctly. Comes with era correct 1954 center pocket Fender tweed case.
